Clearing the decks

I have 26 tabs open in my browser awaiting some action on my part. I need to clear the decks so I can run updates on my PC. In theory, I could use session-saver, but it will reopen my DW tabs without logging me in, and DW doesn't redirect when that happens. So, deck clearance. Please prepare for incoming spam (sorry).

ST:TOR meta

A very cool meta discussion here by [info] - personalseperis on the Star Trek Reboot. There's lots to think about in this post, and I don't have time right now, so this is mostly me bookmarking for future consideration.

Too funny for words!

I've never considered myself a feminist. I've also never considered my gender to be any barrier to getting what I want out of life, but I would never call myself a feminist. I have nothing against men, collectively or individually, and believe firmly in the principle of treating a person as a person, with no initial bias.

Which is why I, like so many in the comments here, find this radical feminist post hysterically funny.

Many thanks to [info]elfwreck for linking the post, so we can all point and laugh :D

Two recs and a meta link today:

First rec is another offering from [info]lomonaaeren, who is climbing steadily higher on my all-time favourite authors list. Her latest tale, A Reckless Frame of Mind (IJ or here for LJ) is preslash, elegantly written and with great emotional intensity. I believe a sequel is planned and I'm already eagerly awaiting it.

Second up is crack!fic from the lovely [info]eeyore9990. I got to the last line of this and nearly died of the giggles. I prudently decided not to explain the hysterics to my long-suffering boyfriend who, I think, would not have appreciated the story the way I did. Ahem...

Finally, some discourse on the fragmentation of fandom caused by Boldthrough, and why it could actually be a good thing for fandom, from [info]femmequixotic. I have to agree with her; I've made so many more posts since I moved to IJ because I want to actively promote fandom on this site, and get things moving again. And that can only be a good thing, no?

Gah! Too many fics, not enough time!!!

I have this entire folder in my bookmarks of fics I keep meaning to rec, but I always want to read just one more fic before bed, and then I don't have time to post my recs.

Maybe I should schedule reccing in my diary... Hah! As if I'd ever stick to that when there are fests on.

Gah! Curse Real Life for interfering with my fanfic habit!
