The only good thing about Autumn is all my TV shows are back

I spent a happy evening curled up on the sofa with Paz, watching Hawaii Five-0, Castle, Bones and Doctor Who.

I should note that I am only watching H50 for the pretty at this juncture. spoilers )

After watching Doctor Who, I now want to leave black cubes randomly about the place and see how many people freak out. You can bet they'll be on sale in time for xmas.

In other news, work is stupidly busy, it's been a sucky summer and I'm tired of getting rained on. So, more telly please!

I went to see Avengers with Paz and my BFF last night and JOSS WHEDON IS A GOD AND WINS AT EVERYTHING! I loved it so much that I'm trying to work out if I really have time this month to go back and see it again. I couldn't get seats in the IMAX, so I think I want to try and see it like that next time. I also really need to watch Captain America and catch up on the backstory there.

In other news, it has been raining pretty much solidly for an entire month now, since the day our new deck was completed. I know the south of England needs the rain, but we in the north do not. Please to stop now. No, really. Just stop.

Well, hello there, stranger!

It's been 9 months since I last posted... Wow! I, ummm... I guess I've been busy! So, hello again, folks. I have been lurking and reading fic (although mostly on AO3), but not much more than that.

So, what have I been up to, I hear you ask. Let me tell you...

Geek stuff )

Work stuff )

Home stuff )

Fannish things )

tl;dr: I'm alive; yay Skyrim; yay garden; yay H50 and other tv shows.

So, that's a recent history of me. I'd like to say that it won't be as long until my next update, but given my track record, that's not really a promise that I can make.

Just finished watching the last episode of Torchwood. Now I need a hug :(

2 things

Thing the First: Google Wave. I WANTS IT!!!!!! Thanks to [info - personal]cupidsbow for alerting me to Google's latest spark of awesomeness. Yes, I know they're now big enough to be considered an Evil Empire but, hey, I still drink my coffee at Starbucks.

Thing the Second: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Just saw it with Paz and we thought it rocked. Not quite as much as the first, but it still rocked. I very carefully avoided reviews beforehand, so now I find out that SFX only gave it 2.5 stars but Total Film gave it 4 stars. Something of a variance. So, have you guys seen it? What did you think?

Thing the Third (because I lied): The aforementioned mags also gave the aforementioned scores to the new Terminator film. Mostly what I've heard from non-media sources is, "Meh..." Have you seen it? Is it worth me forking out for a cinema ticket?

Star Trek 90210 FTW!

I saw Star Trek last night and loved it! Paz was somewhat less impressed than me; says it wasn't proper Trek. This did not stop me grinning like an idiot all the way from leaving the cinema until I fell asleep.

Spoilery things of note )

I'll be leaving the house shortly to meet my mother for lunch. I'm wondering if I can talk her into the 2:15 showing at the Gate. I'm supposed to have used the morning to scour websites for jobs. In truth, I'm getting rather sick of the jobseeking without the finding. Recession, I am bored of you and would like you now to be over!

I don't think Recession is listening to me.

I'm really not sure why I waste 45 minutes each week watching CSI:Miami. Horatio Kane makes me want to throw things at the telly.

I am loving the new V+ box, though. Fast-forwarding through the ads is really the only way to watch TV :)
